Bathroom Inspiration

Our bathroom reno is almost complete and I can't wait to get it in full use again. We started several months ago, totally gutted it. We have other bathrooms in the house but it will be just nice to not have to travel to the other end of the house or the basement for our toiletry needs. :)

I want to keep the bathroom simple but have been seeing some wonderful eye candy for inspiration lately. I thought I would share a few today that have striked my fancy. I hope you enjoy!

This shelf would be easy to make! Have an old picture frame? Build simple shelves to go behind the frame, kind of like a shadow box. Don't have a frame? Then your local home improvement store has lots of trim to choose from!

Stencil family names on your towels! Fun!
I love the stool, too!

I'm in love with that wood hamper! The color is perfect as well.

A simple antique chair. Perfect!

Ideas are sure flowing in my little head. Do you have any resources for bathroom inspiration? I would love to hear!

  1. Love the inspiration photos, Kindra. They could be from a beach cottage here in Maine. I can't wait to see your big reveal!

Our bathroom makeover is still in progress too. Which I'm rather glad about, actually, because it's given me time to change my mind just a little bit.

I returned the first shower curtain I bought after having a change of heart and wanting something with a lighter more vintage feel. My new shower curtain is now making me feel inspired! It's a patchwork mix of soft florals and stripes with some chenille patches as well. There's some sea blue in there too. So I guess the "new" bathroom will be an eclectic mix of country warmth (with cranberry and neutral paint), seaside vintage (shower curtain), and shabby (distressed cream) accents. I can see it in my mind's eye and I'm hoping it will all come together.

I even have a fun rag wreath project in mind which could be fun.

And then there's the rest of the house! I have a feeling that I may be updating some paint here and there come fall...

    Enjoy finishing your new space!

  2. No real inspiration but I do have my eye on picture #3. I love that sink but I'm torn because I also love the twin pedestals! That blue hamper would go nicely between and I much prefer the angles on the mirrors in this last picture. Alas, both of our bathrooms are tiny and we have no room for any of this eye candy.
Thanks for coming by. I have some really old baby shoes that I bought at last week's auction---after I had these made up. Darn the luck. Now they would have stories to tell! I have entered your name. Good luck!

  3. I so can't wait to see your bathroom makeover. I know it will look awesome!

  4. Love the bathroom pictures Kindra, especially the skirt on the one sink...everything is totally beachy!

  5. I would take any one of those bathrooms - they are so beautiful! I love how open and white they all are. :)

  6. Wow, these pictures are so beautiful. I don't think I would ever leave my bathroom if it were this serene. I can't wait to see your finished bathroom!

  7. Love the inspiration pics, especially the 7th one.

I usually check out or Country Living's site, and a gazillion different blogs (like Modern Country and A Lettered Cottage) for "decorator porn", as my husband calls it!

  8. Judging from these photos, I’m thinking you were thinking of a more rustic, cottage-y feel for your bathroom. When it comes to certain rooms in a home, sometimes simple is the best way to go, and the bathroom is a good example of that. A big bathroom looks best with fewer decors most of the time, and smaller bathrooms actually look better with more decoration. The key to keeping it simple isn’t always in how much décor there is, but in where the décor is laid out or how they are used.

I am so happy you stopped by my blog! I appreciate all your fun comments!
