For my Birthday a couple months ago, my sweet friend gave me a bag of goodies! Inside was a small canvas to do whatever my heart contents!
So finally yesterday, I got it out and did a little project.
This was very easy. I did most of it standing in the kitchen while watching my 3 year old in between.
I first painted it country tan-Apple Barrel paints. As you can see to the side, I picked out a saying I wanted and chose kind of the layout I would like to paint on the computer.
Here's my painting trick. I HATE to measure. I'm a lazy crafter. LOL So I take painter's tape and lay it out to make my "line" to follow. I just really eye ball it. I have been doing this for years with my signs and it works great! You can eliminate the time to measure and to erase pesky pencil marks which are hard to erase sometimes.
I used stencils, I already had. Hobby Lobby and Michaels are getting better with time with providing decent stencils. Get them at a great price on sale or with a 40-50% coupon that is provided about weekly in their ads!
I really stenciled the words at random, which was nice. Afterwards, I took a small brush and fill in the "gaps" in some of the letters from using a stencil. I think it looks more "finished". But either way looks good.
Then I had painted some falling leaves and done!
I don't have much for Thanksgiving decor, so this will be perfect for sweet November.
With this canvas, staples were visible on the sides, so I super glued a dark green ribbon to hide them.

Today I am guest posting over at Chicks Dig Deals. I am showing a tutorial on how to make easy wire picture hangers. Go HERE for the post!
While you're visiting, check out some of the great deals that Nikky shares with her readers. I have saved so much $ with her hard work! Thanks Nikky for having me!
This week I have been doing the dirty deed of cleaning out the garage. Yuk.
It's way overdue. I make crafts/makeovers as a hobby so there is endless sawdust in this space. My hubby has put up with my mess for quite sometime so I thought I would surprise him with a garage cleanup. I'm on day 3 and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope the garbage men take all of our trash next week. LOL I want it out of here before it creeps back in the garage again.
Us "decorators" never really talk about the garage much on our blogs. But really it's the first "room" we see when we come home. And to be honest, I was tired of feeling so overwhelmed just pulling into the garage. Not a fun way to be greeted by clutter, sawdust, chaos...
So I put on my grungy clothes and headed out to the site. And I'm so relieved, I'm about done. It's one dirty job but someone's got to do it!
Even though it's "clean", there are still some things I would like to do to "pretty" it up some.
Our walls are white...blah.
How about a splash of color!
I love the floor, but there is no way we could keep it that clean. LOL
I would like to claim a small corner for crafting...instead of the whole garage.
Isn't this space cute?! Just add a radio and I would be set!
Toys and sports gear tend to be all over the place. I NEED this!
And just because I went through so many nuts, screws and bolts my hubby has all over the place...I just had to share this picture. Functional and pretty.
I think I need to make a paint errand. I have the sudden urge to paint the garage wall-just one. Ssshhh don't tell my husband, it's a surprise. :)
Hope you have a great weekend!

I got another makeover to share with you! Hubby is happy because one more thing out of the garage! LOL
I bought this great old dresser at a garage sale for $15. They wanted $20 but I try to ask down price...
I loved all her detail and she was going home with me. My dad and hubby thankfully lugged her home for me.
Here she is today!
I painted her with some leftover paint called "delicate white". I painted the top a dark brown. Then I lightly distressed it so some of the old green paint would peek through. Then I added MinWax Stain "early american".
I spray painted the knobs with primer and black spray paint.
I just love all the detail..even the key holes. :)
She has a special spot in my dining room.
On a different subject...
Isn't the Chile Miners Rescue amazing?!!
I have the live feed going on the computer and I cannot keep my eyes off the family reunions! What a miracle this is! And God Bless all the Rescuers! They are amazing!
Have a Wonderful Day!

It's Friday! The weekend is almost here! You know what that means...I got to work. LOL But besides that it's family/fun time! Yeah!
Today it's beautiful once again. I took some pics to show you some images Outside our front door.
This fence is one of my favorites. I bought it from an old couple at a craft fair and it was super cheap!
I made the sign.
The cool basket was from a garage sale for $2 (it came with some fall leaves, which I have inside)
Another favorite...my old tricycle.
I found the insulators in a wooden box I got at an auction for $1...so they were basically free. :)
Barn door $5 at a local salvage place.
Ohhhh...don't look to close to some of my things! As I was taking pictures, I realized some things need repainted. That will be a Spring project. The to-do list never ends, huh?!
My mom made the birdhouse. :)
I made the birdhouse.
The step stool was $1 at a garage sale. I plan on painting it...someday.
The mini pumpkins are from our garden. I don't know what the deal is this year but some are already getting bad. :(
No big pumpkins grew for us this year...so I had to cave in and buy some this year.
Next week, I'll share some of the Inside. :)
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
