Craving Some Cookies

We were snowed in last week, had an empty stock of food and I was craving something sweet, BIG TIME! I had no eggs, so I sent my hubby to our small grocery store a couple blocks away. They had no eggs! What?!

Then I saw Heather's post on her Chocolate Oatmeal No-Bake Cookies...I was really excited until I realized I had no cocoa in my house. Bummer.

So I went on with my day but was still craving something sweet. So I went searching and found a recipe for Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies! I went straight to the kitchen and whipped them up. Me and my boys got our fix with some homemade sweets!

Here's the recipe:

2 cups sugar
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups rolled oats (old fashioned)

In Large saucepan, mix sugar, margarine and milk. Bring to a full, rolling boil over medium heat.

Boil for one minute, stirring constantly

Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla, stirring until peanut butter is melted. Then stir in oats.

Working quickly, drop spoonfuls of cookie mix onto waxed paper.

Let cool and harden. Then enjoy!!

Now I better go work out.

  1. Sounds good to me! Every time I have made anything lately, it's gone in no time! I made brownies, and didn't even get but one sliver.
    My family loves chocolate!
    Glad you got your fix.

  2. This is the only way we ever make ours. I remember my momma called them "Blondies" :) Hmmm....I do believe I have all of the ingredients on hand!!

  3. Okay so now I want cookies and I have all the ingredients here so off I go to make some, perfect treat for my girls when they come home from school! Thanks

  4. Now this is a recipe, that I can make. LOL.
My kids LOVE peanut butter. I'm going to try making these over the weekend. I love the hearts in the picture. Thanks for sharing!

    Have a great day.

  7. Those would last about 2 seconds in our house!

  8. Those look so yummy!! My hubby loves anything with peanut butter in it...I need to make some of these for him.

  9. Mmmm yummy-yummy!
Thanks Kindra..this sounds very similar to my recipe for choclate macaroons which are cooked on the stovetop but with a few different ingredients.
I HAVE to try these because I have a serious sweet tooth!!
    Have a happy day dear...

    In friendship,
    Deborah xoxo
